Welcome! The mission of Gopher Goner Products is to provide the most effective mole and gopher trapping system on the market, and to provide customers with concise practical information on damage identification and trapping techniques.
My name is Nancy Cunnion. Gregg nicknamed me the Gopher Gal, but I don’t claim to fame. The good looking guy on my right is Gregg Crawford, better known as the Gopher Guy who has earned a reputation around Sonoma County in Northern California. When I met Gregg, he was running a trapping business. I’m from a cattle, hog and alfalfa ranch in Oregon. When I saw how effective those traps were, I had to know how to use them. Gregg he taught me (almost) everything he knows. I’m not as fast as him, but I’m methodical and while he may set more traps per hour, I don’t let too many critters get through my sets. Gregg brags, “Nancy showed me that women can successfully trap as well. Nancy also teaches women how to trap in their own gardens.”
Gregg’s interest in trapping started in 1999 when he noticed a mound in his lawn, and he didn’t know whether he had a gopher or a mole or how to get rid of it. He bought several traps at the hardware store, but every trap had to be buried. They were a lot of work to set and they didn’t work.
The following week, Gregg attended a lecture given by a Master Gardener about a sure-fire trap for catching gophers and moles. The trap was set from above the ground. It was easy to set and check. Gregg caught his first gopher the next day. Several of his friends had gophers in their yards. He got some more traps and caught seven gophers that week. He was hooked.
Gregg took trapping to the next level. His first customer was President of the Sonoma County Grape Growers Association. Since then, he has trapped 1,000s of gophers and moles in vineyards, golf courses, cemeteries, horse ranches, schools, and private residences all over Sonoma and Marin County using the Gopher Goner System.
Word got out about the equipment. People wanted to do their own trapping. Gregg put together a prototype of the tool. Nancy and Gregg produced a DVD filmed in 4 locations. The 100 year old trap, the tool and the DVD were manufactured and now sold under the name, Gopher Goner Products.
There are many types of traps on the market, but they require digging and setting 12” below the surface. They are sold with written instructions for setting the trap. That’s it. Until now, no one has sold a system that includes traps, a digging tool and a detailed DVD teaching how to trap. The Gopher Goner trap is set from the surface. Check the trap without digging it up! It is designed with sufficient spring strength to kill moles and gophers consistently and humanely. The traps will not lose power or trigger sensitivity. No maintenance is required. Hang them up in the shed until the next time you spot activity The DVD is professionally done and easy to understand. The digging tool really takes the guess work out of trapping.
